An overlapping lunch allows teens to hang out with their peers and build relationships both with students in their classes and in the adjacent class.

Literature & Writing Class
​7th-12th grade; 11am-12:15pm
$250/semester
$200 each when taking both classes

This English class will allow your student(s) the opportunity to delve into the modern classic "The Giver" and other selections as a community. We will discuss and write responses to the text as well as review and apply grammar skills through descriptive writing prompts as we enjoy the beautiful scenery of Camp Men-O-Lan. Three formal writing pieces will be due throughout the semester. I anticipate building a thoughtful and engaged community anchored in a Christ-centered worldview.

20th Century History Class
Interdisciplinary Study, Part 1 of 3
7th-12th grade; 1pm-2:15pm
$250/semester
$200 each when taking both classes

This interdisciplinary class will have a unique, student-directed model and will be divided into three parts as we pace through time. Each student will adopt an area of concentrated study based on their individual interest and expertise to present on to their peers in addition to the teacher-directed linear instruction of the significant historical events of that time. Part 1 of this course will cover 1900-1939.

Concentration areas include: fashion, music, art, politics, air & space, cars, food, medicine, literature, film & media, etc.

2-3 larger projects

0.5 credit (History)

Part 2 will run Jan-mid Feb (1940-1959) as a six week Winter session.

Part 3 (1960-1999) will run for 12 weeks in the Spring Semester.

Girls Health & Wellness Club
9th-12th grade girls; 2:30pm-3:30pm
$125/semester
$50 when paired with one or both classes

After the 20th Century class finishes, we'll kick the boys out and settle into a girls community time to connect, encourage, and keep each other accountable toward stewarding our (w)holistic life in service to our Creator. We will be diving into how God created our bodies unique, how to care for ourselves well, how to love others and honor God. We will study his Word and seek to implement how a life following Jesus changes our day to day living.

*A pre-club meeting or interview with moms of these teen girls will be required before admittance to ensure we're all on the same page. 

*Students will not be automatically assigned grades for completion of the Lit/Writing & 20th Century History classes. However, if parents are interested in receiving grades for their students portfolios, Seedthyme School can assess and provide graded work and a final grade for an additional $25 fee per class per student.
